چکیده

The development of MR imaging has been a great advance in the imaging of bone marrow disorders. MR imaging exhibits excellent soft-tissue contrast and therefore has a greater sensitivity for marrow disease than did previously available modalities. This article reviews the normal morphology and appearance of bone marrow, describes the MR appearance of normal bone marrow, and discusses the MR findings associated with various marrow disorders.

Clinical and Pathophysiologic Significance of MRI Identified Bone Marrow Lesions Associated with Knee Osteoarthritis

Knee osteoarthritis (OA) affects the joint beyond just the articular cartilage. Specifically, magnetic resonance imagingidentifiedbone marrow lesions (BML) in the subchondral bone have both clinical and pathophysiological significance.Compared to joint space narrowing on traditional radiographs, the presence of BMLs has been better correlated withseverity of clinical symptoms ...

Study of Coincidence of Hoffa’s Fat Pad Associated Injuries in Knee Traumas in Magnetic Resonance Imaging

Background and Objective: Hoffa’s fat pad injuries are often caused by acute direct and indirect trauma and chronic recurrent micro-trauma, and its disorders are associated with other traumas and injuries that have been less paid attention to in radiological studies. Therefore, this study was performed to evaluate the injuries associated with Hoffa’s fat pad injury in knee trauma using the diag...

Magnetic resonance imaging of the bone marrow in hematologic malignancies.

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) offers a global view of the bone marrow and facilitates the understanding of disease progression and the remission of hematologic malignancies. Marrow MRI is an important tool for accurate diagnosis, monitoring of disease extent, and evaluation of treatment response. MRI functions as an adjunct to bone marrow aspiration and biopsy. Furthermore, abnormal imaging ...

Comparison among T1-Weighted Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Modified Dixon Method, and Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy in Measuring Bone Marrow Fat

INTRODUCTION An increasing number of studies are utilizing different magnetic resonance (MR) methods to quantify bone marrow fat due to its potential role in osteoporosis. Our aim is to compare the measurements of bone marrow fat among T1-weighted magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), modified Dixon method (also called fat fraction MRI (FFMRI)), and magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS). METHODS ...

Spin-Echo planar spectroscopic imaging for fast lipid characterization in bone marrow.

Lipid characterization of bone marrow in vivo with proton magnetic resonance spectroscopy was performed using Spin-Echo Planar Spectroscopic Imaging sequences. The methods are shown capable of rapidly generating two-dimensional chemical shift imaging data sets suitable for measuring lipid indices that reflect unsaturation levels among triglycerides, as demonstrated in oil phantoms and bone marr...

Evaluation of DCE-MRI postprocessing techniques to assess metastatic bone marrow in patients with prostate cancer.

Dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging was performed in control patients with normal bone marrow and patients with untreated bone metastases of prostate cancer (PCa). Perfusion data were assessed using region of interest-based and pixel-wise current standard postprocessing techniques (signal intensity pattern, increase in signal intensity, upslope, time to peak, extended Kety mode...
